Infrastructure Materials Research
Dr. Armen Amirkhanian is an Assistant Professor in the Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering department at the University of Alabama. He received a B.S. in Material Science Engineering from Clemson University and a M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He was previously a post-doctoral scholar at Oregon State University under Dr. Jason Weiss. Dr. Amirkhanian has been the PI on projects for the Oregon and Alabama Departments of Transportation. He has given several invited talks in the US and China (Tongji University). His current research areas include a broad range of infrastructure material characterization and applying non-destructive methods to evaluate concrete pavement materials.
